Interactive BMI Chart for Girls 2 - 20 Years

The interactive BMI chart below shows BMI-for-age percentiles for girls and teens age 2 to 20 years. Grab the blue sliders with your mouse and drag them to mark your age (in years) and your BMI (body mass index). A red dot marks where the two lines meet in the chart. Look for the percentile line (the dark curves on the chart) above and below this red dot. These give the approximate range of your BMI percentile.

As an example, set the Age slider to 15 years and the BMI slider to 20. The red dot lines up exactly on the 50th percentile line. This means 50 percent of the people used to make this chart, girls age 2 to 20, have a BMI higher than yours and 50 percent have a BMI lower. You are exactly in the middle.

Now change the BMI slider to 27 but leave the age slider at 15 years. The red dot now shows up between the 90th and 95th percentile lines. That means your BMI of 27 is greater than 90 percent of the people in this group. Only about ten percent of the people in this group have a higher BMI. This means your BMI is near the high end.
